Privacy Policy

TraceBuddy is a local-first tracing helper for kids and parents. The app does not include accounts, ads, analytics, tracking, cloud uploads, or a backend service.

Camera

TraceBuddy asks for camera permission only when you use camera tracing. The camera feed is shown on your device behind the tracing guide. TraceBuddy does not record, upload, transmit, or store camera video or camera frames.

Photos and selected images

TraceBuddy can let you choose a local image from your device to trace or add as a practice sticker. Selected images may be copied into private storage on your device so Previous Work can reopen them later. They are not uploaded, transmitted, sold, or shared with Shimizu Technology or any third party.

Custom words and drawings

Custom words, phrases, on-screen practice strokes, drawing settings, and added local images may be saved on the device for the Previous Work feature. TraceBuddy does not collect or upload this content.

Exports and worksheets

Save image and worksheet actions run only after you choose them. The web app uses browser download or print controls. The iPhone and iPad app uses the system Photos, print, or share interface. TraceBuddy does not upload these files; you control any destination chosen in the system share interface.

Local storage and deletion

The web app uses browser storage and IndexedDB. The iPhone and iPad app uses private app storage. Previous Work, favorite template IDs, up to eight recent template IDs, guided-lesson step/completion IDs, parent-setup completion, and one saved overlay alignment may remain on the device. A saved alignment contains only overlay position, size, rotation, and opacity, never a camera image. The web service worker also caches the app shell so the interface can load more reliably. Clear local work removes TraceBuddy's saved work, favorites, recent picks, lesson progress, setup preference, and saved alignment, and attempts to remove private selected images. If image cleanup is interrupted, retry Clear local work. Clearing the site's browser data or deleting the mobile app also removes its remaining private app data. Images explicitly saved to Photos remain in the Photos library until you delete them there.

Data collection

TraceBuddy does not collect personal data. It does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or the advertising identifier.

Children's privacy

TraceBuddy is designed for parents and children to use together. Because the app has no accounts, no social features, no ads, no analytics, and no uploads, Shimizu Technology does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Permissions

• Camera: used only to show the live camera preview for tracing over paper.
• Photo Library: used only if you choose a local image to trace or add a photo sticker in practice mode.
• Add to Photos: used only after you choose Save image for a finished drawing.

You can revoke camera or photo-library access in iOS Settings at any time.
